The gemstones are in perfect shape; we saw no chips, scratches, or abrasions on any of the gemstones we looked at. All the gemstones are eye clean and just plain gorgeous. You could break each lot up individually and sell it for $100’s on eBay.
The gemstones vary in size between 3/4 and 10 carats each with the average size gemstone weighing 1-3 carats. The following types of gemstones have been found in the 600-pound treasure: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Citrine, Emerald, Garnet, Iolite, Peridot, Quartz, Rhodolite, Ruby, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Topaz and Zircon. The following shapes were observed: emerald, heart, oval, pear, round, and trillion. All the gemstones could go directly into a ring, pendant or earring setting. All the gemstones are absolutely gorgeous as the pictures below indicate. Most of the gems are natural; although a few will be lab created. Collecting faceted gemstones and coins are a great way to invest. In the last 20 years, the value of gemstones and coins has outpaced the S & P stock average by a 2 to 1 margin.
